Kontribusi Budaya Lokal terhadap Literasi Lingkungan : Studi Kasus di SMP Pandam Gadang Sumatera Barat

Abstract


Penelitian ini merupakan studi kasus siswa SMP yang berada di kawasan konservasi adat Lubuak larangan di Nagari Pandam Gadang, Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota, Sumatera Barat. Berdasarkan penelitian sebelumnya menunjukkan kawasan lubuak larangan memiliki nilai konservasi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui profil pemahaman budaya dan literasi lingkungan siswa di sekitar kawasan lubuak larangan Pandam Gadang  dan mengetahui korelasi antar kedua variabel tersebut. Subjek penelitian melibatkan sebanyak 48 siswa SMP yang dipilih secara purposive. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan angket pemahaman budaya yang memuat 11  butir pernyataan tentang kawasan lubuak larangan dan instrumen literasi lingkungan yang terdiri dari domain pengetahuan, keterampilan dan afektif. Analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan uji korelasi menggunakan SPSS 22.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan profil pemahaman budaya dan literasi lingkungan siswa berada dalam kategori sedang.  Tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara pemahaman budaya siswa dengan literasi lingkungan. Simpulan penelitian adalah siswa di Pandam Gadang sudah memiliki pemahaman yang cukup terkait kawasan kearifan lokal lubuak larangan. Namun pemahaman budaya belum menunjukkan pengaruh terhadap literasi lingkungan siswa. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut budaya lokal perlu digunakan guru untuk dintegrasikan dalam pembelajaran untuk menciptakan pembelajaran yang kontekstual sehingga siswa mampu memahami sains dari budaya sekitar mereka.
