Perbedaan Skor Cemas pada Pasien Gangguan Bipolar Yang Mendapat Terapi Adjuvan Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
Abstract
Background: The lifetime prevalence of bipolar disorder (BD) type 1 is 0.87% and bipolar disorder type II is 0.67%. Although bipolar disorder has a genetic charge, it is considered as multifactorial influenced by environmental factors which is used as an early intervention strategy because it can be modified and MBCT is the first-line adjuvant maintenant therapy in BD patients.
Aims: This study explored whether 8 sessions of MBCT therapy in bipolar disorder could reduce anxiety scores.
Methods: One-group pre-experimental study with a quasi-experimental one-group pretest and posttest design method were carried out. Data were collected 2 months in RSUD Dr. Moewardi. As many as fiveteen participants were choosen by non probability sampling method (total sampling). Subjects were examined for T-MAS, then given MBCT therapy for 2 months with 8 sessions, then repeated T-MAS examination.
Results: The results of the normality test showed that the p value of the pretest T-MAS score was 0.167 and the p-value of the posttest T-MAS score was 0.786. In the T-test test, the T-MAS pretest variable obtained a mean value of 27.67±2.469 and the T-MAS posttest was 18.80±2.042 with a p value = 0.000<0.05, there was a significant difference between the T-MAS pretest and T-MAS posttest.
Conclusion: There is a significant difference between pretest and posttest T-MAS scores, where posttest T-MAS scores were lower after MBCT intervention in bipolar disorder patients who had been given standard therapy.
