Why Women Involvement in Making Online Learning Policies for Elementary School is Important?
Abstract
The pandemic causes double pressure on women. Women must adjust to pandemic conditions that force them to face additional tasks at home. Women must supervise, assist, and complete the learning of their children who are in elementary school while studying at home. At the same time, policies based on women's perspectives are minimal in regional contexts. This study argues that mothers and older sisters are the socially stressed category in implementing online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. Three factors contribute to the minimal involvement of women in policy making. The first is the ideological factor, the second is the internal factor, and the third is the external factor. The ideological factor is the awareness that women should not have a stake in public policymaking. Internal factors are conditions in a woman's nuclear family that cause her to experience emotional pressure. External factors are conditions outside the nuclear family that cause pressure on women, both physically and mentally. Women have an essential role in the continuity of online education at home involving elementary school students. Therefore, the involvement of women in making learning policies with a disaster background for elementary school students is essential in the future.
