Dukungan Sosial Virtual dalam Komunitas Online Rahasia Gadis

Abstract


Hadirnya komunitas online saat ini menjadi sebuah kecenderungan yang memungkinkan manusia bertemu dan beraktivitas di sebuah ruang virtual. Komunitas online menjadi semakin populer dalam beberapa tahun terakhir. Namun, pertumbuhannya cukup signifikan, hanya sedikit yang berhasil mempertahankan dan memotivasi anggotanya. Penelitian ini mengulas secara deskriptif dukungan sosial yang dilakukan para anggota komunitas virtual Rahasia Gadis sebagai bentuk partisipasi di dalam komunitas tersebut. Metode etnografi digunakan untuk melihat aktivitas virtual yang terjadi di dalam grup. Peneliti menggali data melalui wawancara kepada anggota komunitas dan dokumentasi dari komunitas tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa anggota komunitas memiliki motif beragam untuk bergabung di komunitas virtual baik kebutuhan hiburan, kebutuhan psikologi dan sosial. Anggota komunitas dan tim pengelola menunjukkan partisipasi kolaboratif untuk saling mendukung satu sama lain. Kenyamanan bercerita yang dirasakan oleh anggota komunitas juga dikarenakan komunitas ini dapat membuat profil anonym agar anggota merasa aman tanpa takut diketahui identitasnya.
