Idarotuna was firstly established in October 2018 as a scientific forum for lecturers and researchers under Da’wah Management Department. At that time, its establishment was motivated by the fact that there was not a national reputable journal in the field of da’wah management in Indonesia. It has been registered to PDDI LIPI and got printed ISSN based on SK no. 0005.26544709/JI.3.1/SK.ISSN/2018.10 on 4 October 2018.
Idarotuna published all its articles on the Open Journal System (OJS) since its first volume and edition, namely Vol. 1, No. 1 (2018): October 2018. However, along with the period 2018 to 2019, the articles were issued through quick submit.
The October 2021 edition of Idarotuna, which was supposed to be Volume 4 Number 1, was changed to Volume 3 Number 3. This was done following the regulations regarding the requirement of one volume in one year.
Later on, it has been managed professionally by the Rumah Jurnal of Da’wah and Communication Faculty. This aims to improve the visibility of the journal and its management content. As a result, in 2020, Idarotuna entirely implements the business process in OJS, in which all the processes have been completed based on the mechanism.
To reach its goal as a reputable national journal in the field of da’wah management, in 2019, Idarotuna made MoU with Perkumpulan Pengelola Jurnal Ilmu Dakwah (PPJID). Furthermore, Idarotuna has been indexed in Google Scholar, PKP Index, and Indonesia One Search.
