Literasi Digital Qur’ani: Integrasi Konsep Laghw dan Tadabbur dalam Menghadapi Brain Rot di Era Digital

Muhammad Arsyad, Bashori Bashori, Wardatun Nadhiroh

Abstract

The pervasive phenomenon of brain rot, characterized by cognitive degradation due to excessive exposure to superficial digital content, represents a tangible threat to intellectual and spiritual quality in the contemporary global information era. Existing digital literacy paradigms often remain confined to technical aspects and fail to address fundamental epistemological and spiritual root problems, thus necessitating the development of a more holistic alternative. This conceptual study aims to construct a digital literacy model grounded in Qur anic epistemology, meticulously analyzing Laghw (futility) as a comprehensive diagnostic framework for discerning the crisis of character and spirituality underlying brain rot. Concurrently, Tadabbur (deep reflection) is formulated as a robust therapeutic method designed to revitalize cognitive functions and strengthen self-regulation. Employing a descriptive-analytical approach, this research systematically synthesizes the corpus of classical and contemporary tafsir concerning Laghw and Tadabbur, engaging in a critical, interdisciplinary dialogue with modern scientific literature spanning neuroscience, psychology, and media studies. The primary finding involves the formulation of the “Quranic Digital Literacy Model,” featuring practical, measurable pillars: Tabayyun Digital, Adab Digital, and Mujahadah an-Nafs. This model ultimately aspires to cultivate the Ulu al-Albab personality. The proposed framework offers significant theoretical implications by substantially enriching the digital literacy discourse with an integrative Islamic perspective, concurrently providing practical guidance for educators, parents, and individuals fostering healthier, more meaningful technological interactions.
