Ethics of Scientific Publication of Indonesian Journal of Artificial Intelligence and Data Mining (IJAIDM)

IJAIDM Journal is managed by Puzzle Research Data Technology (Predatech) Faculty of Science and Technology at States Islamic University of Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau and was first published in 2018. IJAIDM Journal is a scientific journal published online and in print, which publish articles or scientific research result in the field of Data Mining and Artificial Intelligence (AI) such as Classification, Clustering, Association, Prediction, Hybrid Algorithm, Comparison Algorithm, Fuzzy Logic, Genetic Algorithm, Neural Network, Optimization, Data Science, Big Data and several topics that are still related with Data Mining and AI.

The statement of this scientific code ethics is a statement for all parties involved in the publication process of IJAIDM scientific journals such as managers, editors, peer reviewers, and authors. The Ethics Code for Scientific Publications is basically sustained by three ethical values in publications, such as:

  1. Neutrality, independent from conflict in behalf of managing publications;
  2. Equitability, grant authorship rights to those entitled as authors; and
  3. Integrity, no duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism in publications.

Publisher Responsibility

  1. Journal Publisher of IJAIDM (Predatech Faculty of Science and Technology at States Islamic University of Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau) is responsible for publishing manuscripts after going through the process of editing, reviewing, and in accordance to the layout based on the rules of publishing a Scientific Journal.
  2. Journal Publisher of IJAIDM is responsible for guaranteeing the independence of academic for the editors and peer reviewer in carrying out their respective duties.
  3. Journal Publisher of IJAIDM is responsible for maintaining privacy and protecting intellectual property and copyrights, and editorial independency.

Editor Responsibility

  1. Journal Editor of IJAIDM is responsible for deciding manuscripts suitable for publication through editorial board meetings that refer to applicable legal requirements regarding defamation, copyright infringement, duplication, data fabrication, data falsification and plagiarism.
  2. In the process of reviewing and accepting the manuscript, the editorial team of IJAIDM Journal should in accordance to the principle of equality of treatment in making decisions, publish manuscripts by not distinguishing affiliation, race, gender, religion, ethnicity, citizenship, or political ideology from the author.
  3. The editor and editorial team of IJAIDM Journal will not reveal any information about the manuscripts and manuscripts submitted except with the author's permission.
  4. Unpublished manuscripts will not be used by the research editor of the IJAIDM Journal for their own benefit and will be returned directly to the author.

Peer reviewer Responsibility

  1. Peer reviewer of IJAIDM Journal assists editors in making editorial decisions on manuscripts.
  2. Peer reviewer of IJAIDM Journal is responsible for the recommendations of the manuscript that has been reviewed.
  3. Reviewing the manuscripts in an objective manner, and supported by the clear arguments.
  4. Peer reviewer of IJAIDM Journal is responsible for quotations, references, duplication, data fabrication, data falsification and plagiarism of the manuscript that has been reviewed.
  5. Peer reviewer of IJAIDM Journal should maintain the confidentiality of information and should not use the information from the manuscript he/she has reviewed for personal benefit.

Author Responsibility

  1. The author must presents the results of consideration and research of the manuscript clearly, with integrity, and without duplication, data fabrication, data falsification and plagiarism.
  2. The author is responsible for the confirmation submitted on the manuscript that has been written.
  3. The author must states the references from the quoted opinions of any sources.
  4. The author must write the manuscript in an ethical, fair and responsible manner, in accordance to the applicable scientific writing regulations.
  5. The author does not mind if the manuscript should be edited by the reviewer and layout process without changing the substance or main ideas of the manuscript.
