This journal publishes scientific articles resulting from research in the field of chemistry learning. The scope of this journal includes research on the chemistry curriculum, strategies in chemistry learning, evaluation in chemistry learning, media in chemistry learning. The publication procedure for this journal is through double blind peer-review and applies scientific publications ethics. Published twice a year (January and July) where articles are submitted in Indonesian or English. Manuscripts must be original and have never been published elsewhere, must be submitted online via the Open Journal System (OJS) system. <p><em>This research was instigated with the low of student chemistry learning motivation. It aimed at finding out whether there was a difference of chemistry learning motivation between students taught by using Science Technology Society learning model and those who were not taught by using Science Technology Society learning model. It was quantitative research with quasi-experiment method. The samples of this research were the eleventh-grade students of MIA 2 and 4, and they were 72 students. Questionnaire and documentation were used to collect data. Independent sample t-test was the technique of analyzing data. Based on data analysis results, there was a difference of chemistry learning motivation between students taught by using Science Technology Society learning model and those who were taught by using conventional learning model on Colloid lesson at State Islamic Senior High School 3 Pekanbaru. It was proven with the score of t<sub>observed</sub> higher than t<sub>table</sub> at 5% significant level (4.587>1.994). Based on the result of effect size test by using Cohen’s formula, the score of d 2.59 was lower than 1, and it meant that Science Technology Society learning model affected student chemistry learning motivation significantly.</em><em></em></p>Lusi WulandariZona Octarya

This study aims to produce a problem-based learning weblog on hydrocarbons. The research method used is Research and Development (RnD), the research model used is according to Borg and Gall which is limited to the 5th stage. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire using a Rating scale with five ratings arranged in the form of a checklist. The results of this study are in the form of a problem-based learning weblog on hydrocarbon material called let's learn. The weblog based on problem based learning on hydrocarbon material is declared feasible based on the results of the study, the percentage of assessment on media validation by material experts is 91% and media experts is 83.33% with very valid assessment criteria, the percentage of assessment on the teacher practicality test is 86.66% with very practical assessment criteria, and student response test of 83.3% stated very good.Wulan Permata SariHeppy Okmarisa

<p>This research was instigated by the lack of available teaching material that was appropriate with student need—a teaching material connected the concept implementation to daily life. This research aimed at designing valid ICARE based electronic student workbook on Electrolyte and non-Electrolyte Solution lesson based on the validation by media and material experts, the teacher and student practicality tests. It was Research and Development (R&D) with Borg and Gall development design, and the steps were (1) researching and collecting information, (2) planning, (3) developing the initial form of the product, and 4) preliminary field testing, and (5) revising the product. Preliminary field testing was conducted to the eleventh-grade students of MIPA at State Senior High School located in Kampar district. The validation result by media and material experts showed that the score was 94.13% with very valid criterion. Teacher practicality test showed that the result was 93.63% with very practical category, and student practicality test showed that the result was 84.54% with very practical category.</p>Tika ArwinaHeppy Okmarisa

<p>Recitation method by using a learning medium in the form of application needed to be trained and optimized for students in the learning process; one of them is Chemsketch application. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of the recitation method using the Chemsketch application to improve student learning outcomes on hydrocarbon material. This research was conducted in the academic year 2022/2023 at SMA Negeri 1 Hulu Kuantan with the main material being hydrocarbons. The method used in this study was quasi-experimental where the subjects in this study consisted of two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. The instruments used in the study were <em>pretest-posttest</em>, interviews, and documentation to strengthen the data obtained. The results of the posttest study showed a significance value (2-tailed) of 0 <0,05, indicating that there was a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class. In addition, the average N-gain ability of experimental class students is 47,63% in the high category and 33,33% in the medium category. The results of this study are expected to help teachers improve student learning outcomes by using the Chemsketch application with recitation method.</p>Riza OktarianaFitri Refelita

<p>Kemampuan berpikir kritis merupakan kemampuan yang diperlukan untuk menghadapi era revolusi 4.0. Hal tersebut dikarenakan orang yang berpikir kritis mampu berpikir logis dan rasional serta dapat melakukan berbagai keterampilan yaitu menganalisis dan mengevaluasi informasi, menyusun pertanyaan dan masalah dengan jelas, menilai informasi yang relevan dan mampu mengomunikasikan informasi dengan efektif. Berdarkan hal tersebut tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini yaitu untuk menganalisis kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal tipe HOTS materi kimia sistem koloid. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode tes. Tehnik pengambilan sampel penelitian ini yaitu purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian diperoleh nilai persentase dari ketercapaian indikator berpikir kritis pada siswa SMA Negeri 1 Tanjung Batu ketercapaian indikator interpretasi sebesar 36% dengan kategori rendah, ketrcapaian indikator analisis sebesar 71% dengan kategori tinggi, ketercpaian indikator evaluasi sebesar 30% dengan kategori rendah, serta ketercpaian pada indikator inferensi sebesar 53% dengan kategori cukup.</p>irfa khoirun nadiaeffendi nawawi

This research was instigated with the aim of education that is to form students who are devout, knowledgeable, independent, and who have religious morals. Apart from that, there is a lack of learning media use utilizing digital technology so that learning is less varied. This research aimed at developing Web Google Sites based learning media focusing on Islamic Values Integrated Redox Reactions lesson and linking two sciences into one complete unit. DDR (Design and Development Research) model was used in this research. Feasibility test was done by distributing validation sheet to media experts, material experts, and integration experts, conducting practicality test by Chemistry subject teachers, and distributing student response questionnaire. The result of Web Google Sites based learning media was stated feasible, if it was valid and practical, a) the validity percentages obtained were 92.5% (very valid) by media expert validators, 90% (very valid) by material expert validators, and 90.6% (very valid) by integration expert validators; b) practicality percentage of Chemistry subject teacher assessment through practicality test was 100% (very practical); and c) the percentage of student response to the media was 87.33% with very good criteria. Based on these results, it could be identified that Islamic Values integrated Web Google Sites based learning media on Redox Reactions lesson was valid and practical, so it could be used in the learning.Selly Fah

<p class="Default">Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat persepsi mahasiswa pendidikan kimia Univesitas Islam Kuantan Singingi (UNIKS) terhadap efektivitas pembelajaran online di Era Pandemi Covid-19. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kombinasi (<em>Mixed Methods</em>) kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data dan informasi dikumpulkan melalui kuisioner (angket). Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan Kimia semester 2, 4 dan 6 Tahun Akademik 2021/2022. Adapun teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik <em>random sampling</em>. Data dianalisisis secara deskriptif dari kuisioner dengan menyusun tabel distribusi dan menampilkan data dalam bentuk diagram. Teknik analisis data menggunakan milik <em>Milles dan Huberman</em>. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 48% setuju (S) dilakukan pembelajaran online karena dosen menggunakan metode pembelajaran yang bervariasi, 48% setuju (S) pembelajaran online dapat memperluas pengetahuan karena memanfaatkan internet untuk mencari informasi tentang pembelajaran, 48% setuju (S) pembelajaran online dilakukan saat adanya pandemi covid-19, 48% setuju (S) dalam pembelajaran online mahasiswa tetap mengerjakan tugas secara mandiri, 39% Setuju (S) pembelajaran online membutuhkan biaya yang banyak untuk membeli kuota, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa persepsi mahasiswa terhadap pembelajaran online di era pandemic covid-19 sangat bervariasi dan mendapat respon positif dari mahasiswa.</p><p> </p><p>Keywords:<strong> </strong>Pandemi Covid-19, Pembelajaran online,<strong> </strong>Persepsi mahasiswa</p>Rosa Murwindra
