Abstract

Umumnya, dalam wacana perbincangan pemikiran Islam kontemporer, Islam di Indonesia hampir terlupakan, walaupun negeri ini paling banyak penduduk Islamnya. Di akhir abad ke 20 dan di awal abad ke 21, bersamaan dengan bertambahnya jumlah varian Islam, pemikiran Islam kontemporer di Indonesia mengalami pergeseran dan perubahan yang sangat drastis. Munculnya pergeseran corak pemikiran Islam kontemporer di Indonesia ini merupakan hasil logis dari hubungan yang dialektis dari pergumulan pemikir Islam itu sendiri; antara persoalan Islam dengan modernisasi, kebangsaan maupun budaya setempat.
