Peran Academic Entitlement terhadap Academic Dishonesty Pada Mahasiswa

Abstract


Academic dishonesty is one of the problems in higher education, which can affect individual academic integrity. The purpose of this study is to determine the role of academic entitlement on academic dishonesty among undergraduate students at Islamic State University Raden Fatah Palembang. The participant comprised 161 undergraduate students enrolled in the Faculty of Psychology at Islamic State University Raden Fatah Palembang. Data were collected using an Academic entitlement scale and academic dishonesty scale. To determine the role of academic entitlement on academic dishonesty in undergraduates students, a  regression test is carried out using SPSS 22 software. Findings revealed that academic entitlement has a significant influence on academic dishonesty R2=13,2% and p<0.05). This suggests that academically entitled students are more likely to commit academically dishonest behavior in order to receive a higher grade.
